“西湖优秀女性博士后奖”是杭州市西湖教育基金会（以下简称“基金会”）发起的“西湖女性科学家发展支持计划”子项目。该奖项由唯品会（中国）有限公司捐赠支持，旨在通过为从事博士后研究的优秀海内外女性科研人员提供支持与激励，助力其更好地发挥潜能，更专注地投身科研事业，最大程度地施展她们的才华。同时，让优秀的年轻女性科研人员成为社会的榜样，以此激励更多青少年拥抱科学，走上科研道路，成为科学领域的未来之星。
2024年“西湖优秀女性博士后奖”评审工作由西湖大学和基金会联合执行，奖项申请将于2024年10月31日截止，获奖名单将于2024年12月底公布。
一、奖项设置
（一）奖励方向
理学、工学、生命科学、医学四大方向。
（二）获奖人数
原则上3个名额。
（三）奖金数额
获奖者在西湖大学从事博士后研究期间将每月获得税前奖励12,500元，总额不超过300,000元。获奖名单公布之日，已入职的获奖者自名单公布之月起开始发放，未入职的获奖者自入职之月起开始发放。奖金可由获奖者自主用于其职业、个人发展及社会服务等方面。
二、申请资格
▪ 待入职西湖大学的海内外优秀女性博士毕业生，须在评选结果公布后6个月内办理博士后入职；
▪ 2023年10月1日（含）之后入职西湖大学的在站女性博士后；
▪ 所有参评者仅限申请一次；
▪ 参评者愿意积极参与“西湖女性科学家发展支持计划”等相关公益项目的传播。
三、评审标准
“西湖优秀女性博士后奖”评审将基于候选人的科学素养、学术潜力及潜在影响力等方面开展考评。科学素养和学术潜力体现在候选人过往科研工作的成绩、博士后期间拟从事的科研工作的创新性和影响等。潜在影响力体现在候选人获奖对推广本项目之理念以及推动社会对女性科学家发展的支持等方面的促进作用。
四、申请材料及提交程序
（一）申请材料
1. 英文版个人简历（含发表文章目录）；
2. 申请表，详见附件1。
3. 西湖大学意向导师/导师推荐表，详见附件2；
4. 两封推荐信
参评人应保证所提交的材料的真实性。凡弄虚作假者，一经查实，学校将对其严肃处理。
（二）申请材料截止时间和提交程序
1. 参评者于2024年10月31日前将申请材料1-4项电子版提交至所属学院，具体申请方式详见文末。
2. 各学院初评、填写信息汇总表，并出具推荐意见。
3. 请各学院于2024年11月25日前将所有参评人的申请材料1-4项和学院信息汇总表的电子版，以及推荐意见纸质盖章版交至项目评审委员会。
五、评审流程
11-12月，奖项评审将秉承客观、公平、严谨的原则，严格按照评审标准和如下流程进行：
▪学院初审，确认符合参评条件的申报人数。
▪评审委员会确定各学院推荐指标。
▪各学院根据推荐指标组织初评。
▪评审委员会组织终评答辩评审。
▪公示优秀女性博士后获奖名单。

The 2024 Westlake Postdoctoral Fellowship for Women is part of Westlake Education Foundation's initiative For Westlake Women in Science. Supported through the generosity of Vipshop (China) Co., Ltd., this fellowship fosters the personal and career development of exceptional female postdoctoral researchers at Westlake University. Through these outstanding individuals, we hope to inspire the general public, especially younger students, and to raise their aspirations in science-related careers.

Deadline for submission: October 31, 2024
Final decision announced: December 2024
Number of Awards
Three awards will be made in 2024 for candidates in science, engineering, life sciences, and medicine.
Award Detail
Each awardee receives monthly supplemental funding of RMB 12,500, in addition to their original stipend, for up to 24 months during their postdoctoral stay at Westlake University. The timing for the award depends on the awardees’ employment status when the final decision is announced: current postdoctoral scholars will start receiving funds from the month of the announcement, while incoming postdoctoral scholars will start receiving funds once they are on board.
Eligibility
Applicants can only apply once and must meet the following criteria:
Incoming female postdoctoral scholars, who have identified a faculty sponsor at Westlake University, with a start date within six months of this announcement.
Current female postdoctoral scholars at Westlake University with a start date after October 1, 2023.
All awardees are expected to actively contribute to the initiative For Westlake Women in Science and take the lead in related activities.
Application Submission
The application package should include:
A full curriculum vitae including a full list of publications
Application form (please refer to Attachment 1)
Recommendation form from prospective/current supervisor/co-supervisor at Westlake University (please refer to Attachment 2)
Two letters of recommendation, ideally from references outside Westlake University
Review Process
All applications are subject to an initial screening for qualifications and eligibility.
The schools shall check submitted materials and confirm the number of applications.
The Review Committee determines the number of candidates that each school may recommend.
The schools conduct a preliminary review.
The Review Committee shall hold a meeting, where candidates will deliver a presentation and answer questions on site, to select the finalists for the Westlake Postdoctoral Fellowship for Women.
The final awardees are announced after the interviews.
